Eden

Eden studios is a short term residency and teaching space located on Salt Spring Island, on the west coast of British Columbia. Residency stays are a maximum of 10 days and are offered throughout the year. Residents are chosen through an application and interview process in which we discuss suitability of the studio and environment to the artist's needs and project. Currently residents stay in the main house shared with the founder and host. Residents have a private bathroom and bedroom on the main floor, access to a laundry room, the kitchen, dinning room, and a large shared deck with views of the ocean and Mount Baker.

Maker spaces include a 400 sqft multipurpose space with outdoor access and a large textile studio space located upstairs. The textile studio has four leclerc floor looms, a gilmaka warping mill, bobbin winders, multiple reeds, warping boards, shuttles, and bobbins. The multipurpose space has a large sewing table, sewing machine, serger, and some shop tools. There is also a small dye kitchen with pots, measuring tools, buckets, hot plates, and a stainless steel sink. The property is 9 acres of woods and meadow and includes a garden, a small orchard, a swimming pond and is a short walk to ocean access and multiple hiking trails. Residents have full access to the property and are encouraged to make themselves at home.
